SELECTED WORK

ENGL 301 is a comprehensive writing course that encompasses several aspects of technical writing like peer reviews, letters, reports and job applications. The following is a showcase of some of my best work created throughout this class.

Contract Review

PEER REVIEW - FORMAL REPORT

During the end of the class, I was allowed to critically review my peer's formal report. This exercise allowed me to provide my peer with constructive feedback and help me gain much-needed insight into my own report writing.

FORMAL REPORT

I chose to write a Formal Report Proposal, Formal Report and conduct surveys on the topic " Bicycle theft at UBC Student Residence"

PEER REVIEW - APPLICATION PACKAGE

I am grateful to get another opportunity to review my peer's application package. The application package included a job posting, resume, cover letter and three samples of a reference letter.

COMPLAINT LETTER AND RESPONSE

In our everyday life sometimes things don't go the way we imagine them to. In case of situations like these, it is always beneficial to write a complaint in a calm and professional manner in order to have a higher chance of it being resolved. Like so, it is also better to respond to any complaint in an understanding, soothing way.

PEER REVIEW - TECHNICAL DEFINITION

I was given a chance to conduct a peer review on my partner's assignment. This was a great learning experience as I got to evaluate another's work through a critical lens and, in turn, allow my work to be evaluated as well. It helped me realize the importance of a reader's perspective.

TECHNICAL DEFINITION

I chose to write the definition of the "P vs. NP" problem which is one of the cornerstones of Computer Science. I faced some difficulty in translating this complex term into a simple idea, and in the process, I learned a lot about how to write for a target audience.
